Yes, today I agree with the commentaries. Today means 21st century. In the mid-50's when I was active in bg at Hanna and Barbera, keep in mind that they were the first, the very first, to come up with cartoons made specifically for TV. Yes, we were rushed, but remember too that the audience was not the sophisticated, art-trained clique as you seem to be. The backgrounds were painted for THEM to understand, not for the museum of modern art. Today, I am an architectural interior designer for Hilton International and for cruiseships, living in Athens, Greece. What a change! Drop me a line. I can also do you a bg that I can sign (Art Lozzi)...it'll bring you a fortune.

Hi:

All three films Peterson mentions (MOUSTACHE OF RAOUL DUFY, MERRY-GO-ROUND IN THE JUNGLE), and DAY OF THE FOX: THE LEGEND OF SHARAKU)were packaged together in a vhs called "Gerald McBoing Boing presents Favorite Painters." It looks as though it's an uncut episode of the tv show, meaning all three played together on the show. It's from this tape that I pulled the frame grabs for my site.
