Hey Amid, I just got a copy of the book from Chronicle. It looks good! I can't wait to sit down and read the whole thing. So far I've just flipped through and looked at all the art.

It sounds like it was a huge success(come on, just one photo instead of a full roundup of Con madness from the AA perspective? Aw!). Anyway, I'm thrilled with the cover as it turned out, can't wait to see the book--and think Chronicle has a hit on their hands(no crystal ball necessary for that one).

Melissa - Thanks for your interest in the book. If the book wasn't out at the Chronicle booth it was either because (a.) they were hiding them until my signing on Friday, or (b.) because they were already sold out. So don't worry, either way, copies weren't available. Sorry they ran out so quickly. Hope you'll still pick it up.

Will - Also sorry you weren't able to get a copy in SD. It's too bad I didn't run into you—would have been nice to say hi. Not everybody in line at the signing got a copy either because they ran out. I really wish there had been more copies—I was running into tons of people on Saturday telling me they really wanted the book. The good news is that it'll be released next month so it's not a very long wait.

Arrgh!

There were so many people I missed this year through my own incompetence and the general overcrowding of the 'con.

I hear the line for your book signing was about about a mile long so my chances of grabbing a copy were slim at best.

I stopped by the Chronicle booth today, but no luck on any copies of Cartoon Modern being out. I felt too sheepish to ask about it.

Comic-Con is such a different creature from the Ottawa festival, but both have their positive qualities. If you want to go home with an empty wallet, then by all means, you've got to try San Diego one of these years.

Man, I wish I was going. I've never been to the ComicCon. Some day I hope to go, but it's like pulling teeth for my company to let me go to Ottawa each year. Some day.

Best of luck with the bookselling! Is Alan from Chronicle going to be there? Tell him I say hello. And you bet I'll hit you up for one of those DVD's at Ottawa. Make sure you burn one for me!
